I'm sure we will be repeatedly asked why an account is required before you can order from us. Our requirements are subtlety different from many online stores in that we must have a single account per REVIEW subscriber so we can distribute the magazine, issue reminders, etc.
Most of the current accounts do not have email addresses but they do have the subscription status and history. If we allowed self-service account creation or checkout as guest, we would end up with duplicate accounts which we would have to try and reconcile against any existing accounts probably by search, copy, paste and delete of old account - all rather messy and time consuming.
By asking you to contact us first we can find your account record (or create one if none exists), add your email address and send you an account invite - all much simpler and keeps our subscriber database nice and clean.
Once you have an account you will be able to view your subscription status and any orders placed since we went live (Oct 2015).
