The Spooner Album
By Adrian Gray and Michael Seymour
THE FINEST COLLECTION of historic Festiniog Railway photographs ever! A4 landscape format, printed on heavyweight 170gsm artpaper. 120 pages, casebound with glazed paper jacket. Complete with matching 'portrait' slipcase, embossed on the spine - for protection and easy storage on the bookshelf. Superb reproduction, using 'stochastic screening' of the archive photographs enables closer inspection through a magnifying glass - something not usually possible.
Besides the forty plus large format reproductions (in sepia) of the original photographs taken by R H Bleasdale during August 1887, we have added four more that are not in the FR copy of the album, plus at least one not even in his own list!
Detailed captions have been compiled by FR Archivist, Adrian Gray, using extensive notes left by his predecessor, Michael Seymour.
Plus there is a commentary on the FR at the time of the album and its early history with additional material from the FR archives. For the first time in full, the complete text of 'Over the Narrowest Narrow Gauge' - a lively contemporary account of the line and a trip over it, is also included.
